Beware of 2goeditor.wapka.mobi

Everyone has been asking me how to change their 2go number they used during registration. I have done a lot of research online on whether or not 2go mobile number for an account can be changed and obviously, there wasn’t any legitimate solution online instead all i was able to find are some wapmasters looking for accounts to hack.

During the course of my research, I stumbled upon 2goeditor.wapka.mobi site which claims to be a site that aid 2go users to edit or change their 2go mobile number. Seriously, I marveled and said to myself ‘Geez!!! A lot of people must have fallen for this trick and probably lost their account in the bid of trying to edit their 2go account mobile number’.

The reason I actually said that was because Conscious mobile and internet users who are not new to using 2go are aware that the 2go team always warns never to disclose your account details to any site outside the 2go website which is wap.2go.im.

I have always warned people to be conscious of a site address before inputting their account details. Just so you know, 2go isn’t as low as operating a wapka.mobi site. Okay, I apologies if I meant that wapka.mobi sites are for low people, that’s not actually what I meant but 2go obviously cannot be using a free wapka.mobi domain instead of a custom domain. After all, they use major custom domains like www.2go.com.ng, wap.2go.co.za, wap.2go.im and none of these domains has the 2goeditor as domain name talk less of ending with a wapka.mobi extension.

Secondly, upon stumbling on 2goeditor.wapka.mobi, if you click the text that states ‘change your 2go number now‘, you will be taken to a registration page (take note of the url address and you will notice that), there you will be asked to input your 2go username, password, input password again, 2go username, 2go password, the number you used to download the 2go and your present number. Beneath that, you will see another box again requesting that you input your 2go old number and on the next box, you will be asked to input the username and password again in a format (picture below).

Now, as real as that may seem, its actually a way to getting your 2go account details. I am not new to wapka.mobi sites and i obviously know a little on how the site is designed so its obvious the owner of that site edited the default texts that comes with the form and used 2go prefix. This way, most people will think they are real and without much consciousness, they submit their account details and before you know it, they end up saying that their account has been hacked.

I really do not know how else to explain this but if you’ve been a follower of this blog then you should believe me. Its up to you now but I will simply ask that you do not submit your details on 2goeditor.wapka.mobi or any other related site asking for your 2go username and password other than the official 2go website or app.
