Airtel to Block Other Devices from Accessing their BIS Plan starting December 3rd

Airtel Nigeria’s sending SMSes to its customers letting them know that starting from the 3rd of December, (2013), they would be blocking non-BlackBerry access to their BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS).

Their BIS plans have been a source of cheap internet to android and iOs users for a while now in these parts. While we are on the matter, that’s a great place to start looking for your next plan, if you have depended on Airtel’s BIS for your other devices.

The new move, which is probably due to either revenue leakage or degraded quality of service for the actual BIS subscribers will leave many non-BlackBerry users in these parts unamused.

Airtel is currently rocking the NET with the introduction and discovery of free 5mb.

This is what I've been waiting for Since MTN unleashed their 5mb for N5,I've been waiting patiently for AIRTEL to release their's too and its been released.

To do this, follow this steps.
1. Migrate to the airtel club 10 by dialing *166#
2. Dial *141*11*15# and you will be given 5mb and N5 will be deducted. To check your mb, just dial *123*10# or *141*712*0#

How to Get the 340MB on your Airtel Sim
1. Migrate to Airtel Club 10 padis by dialling *166#.
2. Load airtime worth of #200 on your sim.
3. Send BBUD2 to 440 you get 160mb instantly.
4. Send Deactivate to 440
5. Send BBUD2 to 440 again you will get another 160Mb
6. Send Stopautorenew to 440.

Check your Mb 1hour later by dialing *141*712*0# or *123*10# and you should see 340MB.

This tweak was tested and working before posting it.

How to Use Airtel 2GB Data to Browse on PC and Android

I would like to rewind our mind back to the initial unlimited Airtel plan that is capped 2GB but Airtel called it unlimited.

I spoke with their customer care services some couples of days ago why they had to cap the so called unlimited plan; but the gentle man said that was what the management decided but it has a lot of advantages.

Among others, he said; Airtel Unlimited Plan has the below Advantages
1. Access to Blackberry Protect.
2. Register nothing less than 10 emails on that plan. This is just somehow equivalent to MTN BIS plan that you can register up to 10 emails on that same unlimited plan.
3. When you subscribe, you get the next month subscription free. Which in other words means that you can subscribe with 1,500 this month and get free subscription for next month.
4. It can browse on every device including Java phones.
5. The speed is super high where there is 3G services But there was something that captured my mind, the Airtel customer care said to get 4GB on that same plan I should dial a particular code while 2GB another code. We are only familiar with the 2gb Airtel unlimited code not the 4gb.

How Can I Get 4Gb on Airtel Unlimited Plan
1. Load your phone with #1,500
2. Dial *440*161# for 4Gb if it is 2GB you want, dial *440*16#
3. Immediately you will receive a message telling you that the airtel unlimited plan is active that you should remove your battery and put it in again for it to be active. In most cases, It won't just browse except you top it up with 10mb by loading #100 airtime and dialing *141*712*11#
4. Use the below settings to configure your modem and phone;
APN: internet.ng.zain.com or internet.ng.airtel.com

Password and Username: internet
5. Connect and keep surfing.
