R.I.P: Nelson Mandela Dies at 95

President Zuma Jacob of South Africa while addressing the nation today revealed the death of African Icon Nelson Mandela.

The Anti-Apartheid follower who has impacted greatly in the lives of many would be greatly missed.

He revolutionary passed away peacefully in the company of his family in his home in Johannesburg around 8:50 yesterday's evening Dec. 5th. He was 95 years old.

Speaking to SABC, President Zuma addressed his people saying -
“Our nation has lost its greatest son, our people have lost their father.”
“He is now rested, he is now at peace”
“Our people have lost a father,” said Mr Zuma.

“Although we knew this day was going to come, nothing can diminish our sense of a profound and enduring loss.

“His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world. His humility, passion and humanity, earned him their love."

Nelson Mandela was South Africa’s first black president from 1994 to 1999.

He’s fondly known as Madiba and was released from the dreadful Robben island prison, then went on to guide his country.

President Jacob Zuma said flags will be flown at half-mast across South Africa immediately with a state burial to follow. The UK government have also announced that flags will be flown at half-mast in the UK. Rest in peace, Madiba!
