The Wrecking Ball superstar singer says she actually gets shy when being asked to pose for pictures.
She’s not known for being shy and retiring– so Miley Cyrus’s excuse for her famous loose tongue seems a little bizarre.
The raunchy pop sensation claimed she actually sticks out her tongue because she gets embarrassed.
The former Disney child star, 21, who ‘twerked it’ all over Robin Thicke during a performance at the VMA Awards, said she famously bares her tongue because she doesn’t know how to smile.
And it seems now she’s started, she just Can’t Stop.
During a chat with American broadcaster Barbara Walters as part of her Most Fascinating People of 2013 selection, Miley confessed: “I get embarrassed to take pictures. That’s actually the truth.”
Miley has previously been snapped touching tongues with supermodel Cara Delevingne.

She continued: “I’m so embarrassed because people are taking pictures of me and I don’t know how to smile, and just be awkward, so I stick my tongue out, because I don’t know what else to do.”
Cheeky Miley might have to get used to a serious pose – without the tongue – after it was revealed she is set to become the face of Marc Jacobs for their Spring 2014 fashion campaign.
